Action and Care for Evolving Are Needed (ACEN) is a non-profit organization leading welfare and advocate for the most vulnerable families in El Salvador.
ACEN's story emerges in early 2017 when Eliezar Claros found himself trying to help a family member diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, which required expensive care and unaffordable medications.
Amid this situation, it was deemed necessary to carry out activities to raise funds to help the cause.
Born and raised in the Canton Carrizal Morazán, Eliezar Claros is a persevering, humble, and generous person who has always fought hard to achieve his dreams despite the circumstances that have arisen in his life trajectory.
Since his childhood, one of his greatest wishes has been to help his community, focusing on the most disadvantaged families.
For many years, Eliezar Claros has been exploring and looking for new ideas to respond to humanitarian needs in and around his home community.
It is here where the idea arose to form the Manos Unidas for Carrizal Committee in Maryland, United States, which began with small fundraising activities to promote development projects in the El Carrizal La Unión community, El Salvador.
Thanks to the support, effort, and solidarity of numerous companies, government organizations, communities, and the committee members in different states of the United States, significant growth and expansion have been achieved.
ACEN has supported hundreds of families in different communities in El Salvador and has contributed to many development projects essential for these families' daily subsistence.
